  • Will Alder - Director

    Will is a Producer, international Lighting Designer & Project Manager. As a producer he has worked on events such as Woolly Hat Fair and Bobblehat, both Live Advent Calendars, which saw 24 events delivered over 24 days in 24 different locations - each one a festive surprise to the audience attending. This included converting car parks, air raid shelters, churches, banks, back gardens, and shopping centres into performance spaces. His experience from years of touring to venues big and small across the UK and internationally means he’s got a plethora of hands-on experience in working with hundreds of different venues, and what works and what doesn’t. 
     
    As a Project Manager & Lighting Designer, he has been a key player in the conversion of Passmore Edwards Library in East Ham into a theatre space with Applecart Arts. Will led the conversion of the Applecart’s previous site at Harold Road Community Centre, creating a theatre and live streaming studio space.  He has delivered large lighting rigs & events in St James’ Piccadilly, St Paul’s Cathedral (both Christopher Wren Grade I listed churches), Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, private royal residences and countless more up and down the UK. He’s also Produced and Project Managed three of Applecart’s major outdoor festivals on behalf of the London Borough of Newham. 

  • Aaron Blackledge - Projects Coordinator

    Aaron Blackledge is a director, producer, and technical manager, having earned accolades for lighting and sound design. Over the years, he has worked with creatives on new writing, shows for children, contemporary plays, comedy, and Shakespeare. Aaron is passionate about theatre education and maximising your potential as an artist. Aaron holds their MFA in Theatre Directing from East 15.

    Aaron worked as Applecart Arts’ Technical Coordinator ensuring high quality technical delivery in every aspect of sound, lighting, and AV across the charity’s activities, including event management, school technical training and broadcasting.

  • Sasha Bonner - Creative Producer

    Sasha is a theatre practitioner and producer from east London; where she has developed pieces and workshops based in the local community. After gaining her first class degree in theatre and professional practice, she moved back to Newham where she worked with groups like NVPC and Survivors Together to bring theatre workshops to those who might not have considered such skills relevant to their own lives.

    She has developed skills in devised work, project management and educational/community work. She has also worked with larger organisations including Applecart Arts and TFL to explore live art in non-traditional settings. 

    Sasha’s passionate drive to understand the how and whys of modern life has influenced her work to become more dynamic; encouraging audiences that while you don’t need to know the answer, you should still ask the question.

  • Peter Moreton - Director

    Peter Moreton has over thirty years’ experience working with some of the most celebrated theatre companies in the country including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and the internationally renowned Cheek by Jowl.  He has performed regularly in West End theatre productions as well as highly regarded film and television productions.  He also works extensively as a musician and composer, having musically directed theatre shows in the West End and the London Barbican, as well as performing a series of solo concerts at St Paul’s Cathedral.  His radio career has been extensive, working both in the US and the UK on numerous drama series produced and broadcast with the BBC and other international broadcasters.

    Alongside his artistic career, he has continued to pursue his passion for facilitating creativity within local communities by creating platforms and pathways for emerging artists creatives and technicians.  He founded Applecart in 2011 and has continued to facilitate opportunities for people who might struggle to encounter cultural experiences to gain confidence in exploring their creative lives.
